We at Skill Lab are on a mission to enable academic institutions to support them with career service guidance technology software to further support their students to be #CareerAware #CareerReady for future opportunities. For this cause, we partner with different academic institutions and companies who share our organizational values and understand the cause.
Our partner companies have their own mission to contribute to the learning of different individuals who are looking to improve their socio-economic status through better career opportunities. Through our common goal, we come together to make a difference!
One of our partner organizations is DataCamp which has been supporting us through their #Donates program to provide their online learning platform to Nepali learners. As we are nearing the completion of our first annual partnership, let’s look at some of the impacts DataCamp and DataCamp Donates has contributed to the lives of young Nepali scholars.
The learners are actively using the knowledge gained from DataCamp in their personal, academic, and professional lives as they mentioned in our interactive session with them. In their personal lives, scholars are using the knowledge of machine learning in making predictions about the stock market, making predictions about football matches, and to writing online articles:
“I am using the knowledge from DataCamp courses to predict the stock market using machine learning. The Certified Community also helped me to make my LinkedIn profile better. It has also helped me publish an article in Share Shankar which was on stock market simulation for a time period based on certain assumptions.” — Romin Neupane
For many learners, the DataCamp courses have contributed to making their academic courses relevant and played a significant role in connecting theories to practice;
“DataCamp’s Introduction to Python has helped me understand Python and solve problems during bootcamp provided by MU Institute. Further, Intro to Data Literacy has also helped me understand SAS Analytical subject in my credited course.” — Chetana Shrestha
“I am applying DataCamp’s R Programming Track for my current international degree.” — Rashmi Singh
Many learners have reported that acquiring knowledge from DataCamp has had a positive impact on their professional lives. This includes landing relevant jobs, upskilling in their current job, and being able to support their team with the knowledge they have acquired.
“From the Understanding Data Visualization course to improving my data analytics, both have helped me to understand their application and land a relevant job as a result.” — Sujan Sharma
“I have used the skills I learned on DataCamp to create visualizations and dashboards that help my team better understand and communicate key metrics. For example, I used the data visualization skills I learned in the Data Visualization with Python course to create an interactive dashboard that displays user behavior data over time. This dashboard has helped our team quickly identify trends and patterns in user behavior such as DAU, MAU, game played, and acquisitions. It has also helped me with the pre-phase of data analysis, while cleaning the data.” — Manisha Deshar
We definitely owe all these impacts in our learner’s different spheres of lives to DataCamp and DataCamp Donates. We are exceedingly grateful to the DataCamp Donates team for always being available to address our queries and making the journey even more wonderful for us and our learners.
We encourage all the non-profit organizations working in the sector of education, employment, career preparation, and similar areas in Nepal to apply to the DataCamp Donates program to make use of this opportunity.
